The Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust awarded $1,872,500 to 21 Indiana nonprofit organizations Thursday, March 11, 2010.Southside Animal Shelter received $50,000 from the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust.
The funds will be used for one year salaries for a full time vet tech and shelter manager. Our mission is to rescue healthy and treatable at-risk cats and dogs and restore them to happy, healthy lives in loving homes. In 2009 we increased our shelter hours and increased our adoptions by 312 (19%) over 2008. In the first two months of 2010 we have almost doubled our dog adoptions from 50 in 2009 to 92 in 2010 and have increased our cat adoptions by 24%. This grant will help us to continue this upward trend and help to guarantee the safety of more companion animals in the city of Indianapolis.
Southside Animal Shelter would like to thank the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust, the NMPCT Trustees and the NMPCT Staff for their generosity and support of our mission. To find out more about NMPCT click on their logo below and find out more about the Trust who they have supported.
