Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Bristol, located in Bristol, Virginia, presented checks to two animal shelters last week. The recipients were Petworks Animal Services and Animal Shelter of Sullivan County. Both organizations help stray and abandoned animals in the region, and the funds will help support their day-to-day operations.
The event was part of a charitable initiative through which the casino and its employees support the local community.
The nearly $39,000 was split evenly between the two organizations
The total donation amount was $38,800.26. The funds were distributed equally between the two organizations:
• Petworks Animal Services received $19,400.13.
• Animal Shelter of Sullivan County received $19,400.13.
The figures are taken from an official press release from Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Bristol.
A January “Cutest Pet” contest raised the full amount
The funds came from an internal employee contest at the casino called “Cutest Pet” (“Most Adorable Pet”), organized in January. Participants, Hard Rock employees (Hard Rock Team Members), competed for the title of owner of the most charming four-legged friend. It was the results of this contest that produced the amount that was then donated to the two shelters.
This fundraising format makes it possible to combine corporate culture and philanthropy, turning a routine workplace event into a tool for real help.
Charity as a way to boost a casino’s reputation
For gambling establishments, charitable campaigns are not only a good deed in itself, but also a PR/news hook. Amid today’s intense competition, including from online casinos, reputation plays an important role in choosing a gambling venue.
The number of gaming platforms offering players a variety of entertainment options continues to grow. Many of them allow people to play from anywhere in the world—this is supported by data from www.casinosbonusca.com on online casinos with no-deposit bonuses, which includes a list of major platforms with international licenses. They are available from Canada or Mexico to Kenya or Spain. The combination of easy access and bonus offers, along with a broad game catalog, is a strong driver of player loyalty.
Land-based casinos choose other ways to attract attention, including charitable campaigns.
Comments from those giving and receiving support

She emphasized that Hard Rock’s commitment to giving back to the community strengthens the organization’s mission and supports the work it does for animals in the Tri-Cities region (a multi-city area along the Virginia–Tennessee border).
Brandi Perkey, executive director of Animal Shelter of Sullivan County, said that partnerships like this allow her organization to continue changing lives for the better for animals and families across the Bristol area.
