Athena’s struggle continues…you might remember her. She came to us months ago after being attacked by another dog. The other dogs tooth penetrated so deeply into Athena’s head she developed a serious bone infection called osteomyelitis. She is being loved and cared for in a wonderful foster home for which we are very grateful. But this care comes at a cost. A very steep financial cost. Her veterinary bills to date are $5500 and she is not out of the woods. We made a promise to Athena to give her every chance at recovery and this is exactly what we are doing. As long as she continues to live a quality life and there is hope for her recovery, we plan to keep our promise.
Athena is just one of many, many medically urgent animals we have agreed to care for this year.
