If you’ve visited the shelter recently you know we’ve been undergoing a bit of renovation. With funding provided largely by a grant from Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust in combination with generous donations of volunteers and supporting organizations, we’re working on six new indoor/outdoor kennels, repairs to fencing, refresh of one of our buildings, a new website and more. With many thanks to Sosbe Remodeling as well as wonderful volunteers from companies such as Appirio and Somerset CPA, our property and our buildings are getting some much needed TLC.
This and other work is all part of a strategic planning effort we are undertaking to make sure that our shelter, helping Indianapolis’ at-risk dogs and cats since 1987, will be around for many years to come.
One of the steps is taking a look at our logo as well as our name to make sure they both are as strong and relevant for today as they can be.
A Rosier Name
You’ve always known us as Southside Animal Shelter. We love what that name says about where we are and the community in which we do our work. In our opinion though there was one element missing and that was how personal our work was to us, to our volunteers and to our adopters. We didn’t want to lose what we loved but wanted to add a bit more of our unique heart and soul.
Introducing Rosie’s Southside Animal Shelter.
From the beginning, Southside Animal Shelter has been shaped from the emotion, energy and commitment that Rosie Ellis brings to helping our dogs and cats every single day. No better way to bring heart and soul into our name then to add Rosie’s name to it.
And An Updated Logo
Many of you may recognize our old logo and colors. We’ve always loved the emotion it evoked but thought it was time for an updated design that would translate better to the digital space. We hope you’ll agree that the new logo connects to our past and is also ready to help us march into the future. You may see the logo in different colors, but know that the primary color is this blue. Symbolizing loyalty, strength, wisdom and trust, we felt it was a perfect choice for who we are and what we do (and it happens to be Rosie’s favorite color).
Don’t worry, our tag line, True Love Is Rescued™, is still with us and still defines who we are. We simply separated it from the logo to give us more flexibility with the logo as well as the line.
We hope you like our rosier name, updated logo and new color. We are excited about the future at Rosie’s Southside Animal Shelter and look forward to continuing our work with you and the entire community as we all seek to make a difference in the lives of Indianapolis at-risk dogs and cats.
